After the first 3-4 minutes of Lovelight on 1969-12-12, it sounds like Jerry & the Band is trying to invent the Allman Brothers of the early 70s.

Considering that the ABB had an album out and the bands shared a bill at the Fillmore a couple months later (and had met in person, according to Bear's notes in the ABB Feb. 1970 release), I'm thinking this is not pure coincidence. Fun to see how these artists were influencing each other, especially as the Dead's relationships with David Crosby and others were so strongly shaping their sound during that stretch, too.

Had it written down! It has been a while, though mainly I am taking notes when I read here, and rarely have something to chip in.

Very few places remember the sporadic visitors like this one. Pretty cool.

Oh yeah; I almost "abbreviated your handle" (ahem...SDH will like this one) like I do for everyone...cept yours is "ED".

;)

Good to see an old regular.
